When it comes to the old school sound of authentic rock n' roll, these guys play it the way it's supposed to be played…with heart!
RiverStone Band is group of old school guys who played in bands way back when groups like Santana, Cream, Grand Funk, and many others of the early 60’s and 70’s were at the top of their game. The kind of rock n' roll that moved the soul and was heard from a black vinyl record…Music that was called medicine for the restless soul…but could rattle the brain with the intense guitar solos.
The Austin based band was formed in 2001 the way most bands typically start, in a garage. The garage, located on Hard Rock Road, no...really!, is now politely referred to as the “Sandbox”. A place of refuge from the daily demands of their professional days jobs.
The band has gone through a number of evolutions and transformations which include a variety of new singers, lead guitar players, and a keyboardist. These days the group has found the right collection of guys with a cohesive combination of talent, personalities, and collective musical interests, and has been nominated for awards...and is a favorite by many!!!
In the early days playing back yard parties, bowling alleys, and turkey shoots, Riverstone has paid its dues. Over time the expansion of fans and loyal dead-heads, the band finds itself in demand by local Austin club hotspots, rock venues, and showcase performances.
These guys really do play for the right reason…the listener….
